Hi, I'm Tristan, the founder of Inner Scene πŸ‘‹ I've been acting for about 5 years now, but it wasn't a straight path. After trying a couple of schools that didn't click, I jumped straight into the industry in 2017. I landed an agent, booked my first film in 2018, and thought I'd made it β€” just wait for self-tapes and let them handle the rest. But then reality hit β€” the work dried up, and Covid rolled in. Like many, I started rethinking things. I went back to university to study Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience, ran a podcast breaking down non-fiction books, and along the way discovered Notion β€” the tool I used to manage both my studies and the podcast. When I graduated in 2023, I had a choice: pursue psychology or give acting another shot. Reflecting on my first attempt at the industry, I saw how much autonomy I'd given away by relying on my agent to push things along. I decided, if I was going to give it another go, I needed to be proactive and use my time more effectively. But as soon as I got stuck in again, I realised just how much of this career is admin β€” applications, invoices, tracking auditions, keeping up with contacts. Without a central place to manage it all, I was spending 90% of my time on the business and barely any on the craft. So I started using Notion to manage it all β€” auditions, training, jobs, payments, contacts. Over time it grew into a system that not only kept me organised but also helped me use my experiences, spot patterns, and find opportunities. When I met Dylan, we realised we shared the same mindset about this career: it's about being proactive and making the most of your time. That's why we built Inner Scene β€” to give actors more power over their careers, cut through the chaos, and free up time for the craft.

Looking Ahead

Our Future Vision

Inner Scene began as a way to make the business side of acting less overwhelming. But the vision is much bigger.

We see it becoming the central hub for everything acting β€” a place to manage your career, access resources, and keep all the admin in one clear, organised space.

And we’re building it with actors, not just for them. By creating a community where people feel open to share their experiences, tips, and resources, Inner Scene will keep evolving to reflect the real needs of working actors. In that way, everyone who contributes helps shape the system.

As the system grows and becomes more automated, Inner Scene will start working in the background for you β€” acting like your own personal pocket manager. Unlike an agent whose attention is split across dozens of clients, Inner Scene focuses entirely on you: using what you log to create opportunities, spot patterns, and save you time, so you can spend more of it on the craft.

That’s the future we see: a central hub, a community, and a pocket manager β€” built to give actors control, support, and space to grow in a career that too often feels out of their hands.
